Getting too big!

Lately, Laura Beth has grown so much, physically and cognitively. She has learned her colors (except she has trouble with blue and green). I didn't teach her the colors. I'm pretty sure she learned them at school. ha! She really just started doing them consistently this week. She also says longer utterances now. For instance, her new thing is to say, "This is yours." All of the sounds and words are there. It is hilarious to hear. I think this phrase came from school. They must be learning to share. ha!

Recently Laura Beth has become "OBSESSED" with these glasses that I could not get her to wear in the hot summer sun, but NOW she eats in them, bathes in them, etc. It's ridiculous. Today she was walking around the house saying, "Glasses? Glasses?" She was frantic. I said, "LAURA BETH THEY ARE ON YOUR HEAD." ha.

Now if you ask Laura Beth what her name is, then she will say, "Lou- wah." Yeah, she learned that at school too. Apparently, they taught her the WRONG vowel. ha. However, we think it is adorable.

My sister has her baby, Gage Breisch Stallings, on Monday. She goes into the hospital on Sunday night. We will be in MS (in Jackson) on Thursday night until Sunday visiting them. We are very excited!

Enjoy the videos. The first part doesn't have alot of volume, but you can't miss the animal sounds. ha!

EMMY TRIBUTE!

We "discovered" her through some mutual friends. God made a hilarious, faithful, and FUN person in such a petite (NOTICE WE DIDN'T SAY "SHORT" EMMY!) body. :)

We call her "Emmy" because it was easier for Laura Beth to say. I'm sure Laura Beth could say, "Emily." However, we shortened her name to Emmy to make it easier. It suits Emily nicely.

Recently, Emmy went on a mini-vacation with us. We joked and called it a "family vacation" (because we stayed with some of my family instead of a hotel and we all went in the same vehicle, etc) so now Steve says she is part of the family. Emmy says Steve is taking that statement a little too far. ha!

A little background on this wonderful lady: She is from Papua New Guinea where her parents are missionaries. She is in the counseling program here at South Western. She can do hilarious imitations of people and movie lines. She could probably talk to anyone she met. However, she is a REALLY good listener.

Anyway, I wish all of you had the chance to meet my friend, EMMY. God knew I needed to meet her. I think God wants everyone else to meet her too. :)

She knows who she is AND WHOSE she is. Love you Emmy! :)

Students together

I took this picture yesterday as Steve and Laura Beth were heading out the door to school. I think it is so sweet!

Ants in my...hands

Today Laura Beth's school called and said that she "got into" ants. She must have tried to pick them up or something. Her hands are covered in ant bites. Poor thing. Throughout the day she holds her hand up and says in a pouty voice "hand." What a great place to have them, huh? I'm not sure it was worth posting the pictures. The bites are kinda hard to see in them.

A couple of fun videos

Here are a few videos of our trip to Schlitterbahn water park. Not too much talking from Laura Beth (which is unusual these days) but you can tell she is just glued to everything. :) Please ignore me in the background. ha.

Updates and Schlitterbahn

Wow, SO MUCH is going on in our family (families).

First and foremost, please be in prayer for my sister, Angie. She went to the hospital Saturday night as her blood pressure was rising. They told her to come in just to check a few things. She was out of the hospital that same night, but her blood pressure is still high and she is on strict bedrest. She will see the doctor tomorrow (Monday) and we will know more about what is going on with her and little Gage who is due on October 18.

Second, I am happy to inform you (if you didn't already know) that Steve took a part time job at Travis Avenue Baptist church here in Fort Worth. The job is titled "youth minister Associate," but he is just happy to be involved with the youth here with a role he can handle and do 18 hours of school at the same time.

Third, I meet with the surgeon tomorrow to discuss the removal of my gall bladder. I hope they can do it this week, but we won't know until tomorrow afternoon (Monday).

Lastly, we (Steve, Laura Beth, Emily, Lauren, and myself) went to my aunt Barbara and Uncle Jimmy's house to visit on our way to Schlitterbahn Water Park thanks to the Lehrmann's for the tickets! It was so much fun! Here are some of the pictures.

This is Laura Beth at around 3 or 4 months old sitting in this little chair at Aunt Barbaras. Look hold much she has grown!

Perfect size chair for Laura Beth.
Emily took this picture. I think it is so cute.

Laura Beth likes making funny faces these days. Pretty cute!

We played too hard. Naptime. She went to slept in seconds, literally.

CHEESE!

Laura Beth has just recently started saying, "Cheese" for pictures. However, she doesn't always LOOK at the camera. I caught her one this one though. She is carrying the "mail." When she gets home from school she gets out of the car saying, "mail, mail." It is so cute.

She also loves our neighbors four wheeler. She needs to take drivers ed though. ha!

Results are in!

I (Lizzie) had a Hidascan done this morning. The results showed abnormal gall bladder function. I think the gall bladder is supposed to empty at 35% or faster to be normal. My gall bladder is going at 14%, which is too low. They will do surgery to remove it. We haven't found a surgeon yet, as it is Labor Day weekend and everyone is out of town. We think it'll be Tuesday before we find a surgeon to consult. Then, we have to schedule the surgery. I will be out for a week when the surgery is complete.

Good news is the rest of the house is well. Thank you, Lord, for healing and doctors to help us!

SICK!

We have been so sick the last couple of weeks. I haven't had time to blog. I had a couple pictures to add to the blog, but tonight I am in recovery and don't think I can get them on here.

Starting last week (Monday), I got really sick. We thought it was the stomach virus, but it came with additional abdominal and back pain. We went back to the GI doctor and they think it might be my Gall Bladder malfunctioning. So they scheduled a hydoscan to look at my gall bladder for this coming Friday. In the mean time, Laura Beth came home throwing up last Friday. It wasn't bad and she was over it quickly, even slept well. Then, Monday night (3 nights ago), Steve came home throwing up. He was really sick. He ran fever all day Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon I agreed to get Laura Beth since I was "well." By 6:00 I was very sick. I was up all night Tuesday night. Today is recovery day for me. Thanks so much to Lauren Kelly for taking Laura Beth to her house while we tried to get rid of this horrible virus.

This Friday we go for the scan to see if they need to remove my gall bladder. I'll be out for a week or so if they determine that it is in fact a malfunctioning gall bladder. This Mears household has never been so sick. We are ready for healthier days! Until then, no pictures. Sorry. :(
