After talking to Steve tonight, I can testify that God heard your prayers and answered them. Steve wanted us to pray for no rain, because when it rains, the team cannot get to the village. Tonight (wednesday) they needed a "no rain" night so that Steve could preach at the worship service and the team could get to the village. It has rained the last couple of nights. However, tonight it didn't rain! Whoo hoo! Steve was able to preach and the team was able to worship with the villagers. What a blessing!
Last year, this same thing happened with the Honduras mission team. It rained 6 out of 7 nights during last year's trip to Honduras. So they prayed for no rain in order that they could worship in the village at the church. The only night it didn't rain was on Wednesday night, so the team was able to worship with the villagers. God is so GREAT! The same thing is happening this year. :)
They have 4 more days on their mission. Please continue to pray. :) God honors and adores it.

Tuesday Honduras Update
Steve and I talked for a while tonight. He said that he met a 10 month old boy (born Feb. 10. 2008), which is a day younger than Laura Beth. The family was asking if the team had brought medication. Steve said that they had not. Then Steve asked why the woman was asking, what was wrong. The woman told her that her son had a very bad diaper rash. Steve thought, "What a simple thing to prevent and take care of in the states, but here in Honduras this could turn serious." The team, with the advice of the local missionary, was able to take (and pay for) the boy to see a doctor. It turns out that the boy was running a fever today. He had an upper respiratory infection too. They prayed for the boy and the team were happy to be able to help in this way. Steve says that they have been able to do things like this because of the faithful giving towards this mission trip. Their main goal was to hand out food and build a house. It turns out that they are doing much more. What wonderful news!
BELOW is a general update from Steve for our church family. I wanted to share it with you. Steve preaches tomorrow at the La Colonial church, which they built last year.
Monday:
"I was very encouraged today. My experience last year in Honduras was so wonderful that i was worried that this year would feel less. Last year i had the freedom to do whatever i wanted and I could be very involved in building relationships. This year I knew i would have organizational and managerial duties and my selfish fear was that I wouldn't enjoy this experience as much. Yet my fulfillment has come in another way this year. FBC Greenville should be extremely proud of the way their teenagers and the rest of the mission team is doing ministry. It's not as much what we're doing, which in itself is incredible. It's how they're doing it. I feel very fulfilled when i see a 17 year old boy jump out of a truck and without hesitation immediately run up to a Honduran child and pick him up and spin around and climb a tree with him. Another sight was looking down to a soccer field where half a dozen of our youth were running around with two dozen Honduran children chasing soccer balls and frisbees that have the plan of salvation written in Spanish on the underside. Then I looked to the side of the field where a 16 year old girl was sitting with a 3 year old Honduran child. The sun was very hot and bright so our 16 year old pulled out an umbrella and held it where the child was shaded while she baked in the hot equator sun. Let me tell you these are the sights that I've seen in just a day and a half. There are dozens more that would melt even the hardest heart. Our youth are ministering with class, integrity, and most of all love. My gratitude is to the Lord when I see God's will being done, in this way, God's way.
God has blessed us with health so far. No one has gotten sick, we feel very rested. There is a very positive feeling over every experience thus far. We've gotten many extra opportunities to serve and minister to the people of Honduras as well as to minister to the hearts of each other.
Please continue to pray for our group. We feel the prayers of the church and know that God is honoring them."

Honduras Update!
As many of you know, Steve is in Honduras this week. He left Dec. 27th. He is taking 37 people (high school, college, and adult) to a village called Pina Blanca. They are staying in another city, but they go to this village everyday to do Bible school, build houses, hand out food bags, and provide other needs which are evident. Yesterday the team handed out food bags and attended a church service "Honduran style." Steve reported that the children came running from the village when he got there yelling "Estabon" which is what they call Steve. Steve said it was the best feeling that they remember the group from the last trip. Steve said he did his best to tell the people of the village that he remembered them and that they are just as important to us as he is to them.
Today, Steve said they are taking on a new project that they hadn't expected. They are using $600 of the money raised for Honduras to work on a house that prepares food each day for missionaries. Steve and the team eat lunch at this place everyday. They also sent out a group of the team to build a on a house in La Colonial. Then another group will go to do a bible school with the children in la colonial, and the last group will pass out food bags in another village nearby.
He also stated that the old school of the village has been torn down and they have since built a bigger nicer school for the children of the village. These children get to attend school for free until 6th grade, then they have to pay $30 a month to attend school in the upper grades. Fa La La La La... La LA.... LA.... LA!
Oh What a Christmas to remember. It is started off a little rough and ended wonderfully! On Dec. 19 we headed to Jackson to see Steve's side of the family. While we were there we got Laura Beth's picture taken with Santa Claus at the Jackson Mall.This is Laura Beth and Hannah Claire hugging in the mall. 
Then they played in front of a funny mirror that made them look really short.
Then, we headed to see Bampa and Mammy.
Laura Beth got to open her first Christmas present with her daddy. It was a present from Uncle Bill. Hannah Claire was very fascinated with showing Laura Beth how to play with the toy.
Then Mammy gave ornaments to the grandchildren just like her mother did when Steve was growing up.
Then Laura Beth opened a present from her cousin, Hannah Claire, which was a ball. NOW Laura Beth says, "ball" every time she sees a ball....any ball. It is really cute.
Next we were on to Mammy and Bampa's stocking for Laura Beth. Laura Beth loved this because she LOVES to take things out of bags or boxes.
And this is a tired Laura Beth relaxing after all of the first present unwrapping. Little did she know she was in a for a LONG night and MORE presents the next day.
SOOOO later that night, Steve got the stomach virus. It was AWEFUL! So Laura Beth and myself had to "evacuate" the room with Daddy and sleep in a different room without the crib (it wouldn't fit through the door to change rooms).
After a long night, we were up and ready to eat and open more presents, but Daddy was still sick. He couldn't hold, touch, or get near Laura Beth for almost 3 days. It was so sad watching him want to be close to his sweet girl during Christmas. However, Bill got to hold Laura Beth AND Hannah Claire. It was fun to watch Laura Beth and Hannah Claire loving on Bill.
Then, more presents!
Looks like next year, we'll have to decorate our tree half way down. ha! Laura Beth loved Christmas trees this year. However, she wasn't fast enough to get to the them so we didn't have to worry about it. Next year may be a different story.
Aunt Laura made Reindeer antlers for Hannah Claire and Laura Beth. Uncle Aaron played reindeer too. ha!
So we headed home from Jackson and tried to get Steve well for a week of church responsibilities. The day after we got home(Sunday), we had a scavenger hunt for canned goods at the church. The food went to about 10 very appreciative families who welcomed us into their homes. My group won the scavenger hunt! Rock on Mini Van riders!
My girls! (Sunday school class) Some weren't on my team, but they wished they were. ha! Anne Langdon in the back used to be in our class, but she got old and had to move up. She's sticking her tongue out in the picture...but we promise she did get older and that is why she moved up. ha!
On Monday, I did some PRN work and Daddy began getting things ready for the Mission Trip to Honduras. I'll post more on about this trip in the days to come.
Tuesday, we cleaned the house in preparation to have Christmas with a sweet family. The lady who loves Laura Beth, Teresa, brought her family to our house for some food, presents, the Christmas story, some "lights seeing," and fun. It was a fun time. :)

On Wednesday, Ro Ro came by with gifts, treats, and love! Laura Beth loves her bear and Christmas ornament. She especially likes her pearl bracelet It is so sweet! (Thanks Mimi and Pops). BUt she had the most fun with Ro Ro's hat. ha! Not to mention that everyone else in my house (and those that came visiting) are loving the turtle cake you sent. YUM YUM!

That night, we had a nice time at the Christmas Eve service at the church. Laura Beth sat in on this service and sang Christmas carols with us. Then, we came back to my house to eat and visit with my side of the family.
The next morning (Christmas Morning), we ate breakfast at my parents and Laura Beth opened presents from my side of the family. We don't have pictures because we videod everything with our new video camera that we are super excited about.
On Friday morning (day after Christmas), we took down the Christmas tree, cut Steve's hair, and packed bags for Steve to go to Honduras. Yes, today Steve is in Honduras. He'll be there until Jan. 4th, 2009 (be in Greenville at 2 a.m). He is serving our Lord, through missions. He took 37 people to a third world country to give out food, build houses, build relationships, and most importantly share the Word of our Saviour. It gives me chills, as I sit here typing this, to know that God's kingdom will be built upon this week. Lives will be forever changed. I'll keep the blog updated as much as I hear from him. Please pray for him, the youth, the rest of the team and those Hondurans in Pina Blanca!

Daddy Teaches Laura Beth to Tap Dance.. Or is it the other way around?
Jennifer Gilliam gave Laura Beth this "Sassy Jumper" but Laura Beth isn't much of a jumper. BUT apparently she is a very good tap dancer. ha! This video has music, which makes it better. So turn up the volume and watch Laura Beth tap away. Her daddy is a very good teacher. :)

A weekend at home!
Today (Saturday) was nice. I got up late (if 7:45 is late...which it is to me. ha!) Then, I ate breakfast (slowly), took the dog for a walk, ordered our Christmas cards (well, Steve did it, but I was "involved"), played with Laura Beth, finished decorating her tree, wrapped some Christmas presents, addressed Christmas card envelopes, cleaned a little, and felt VERY progressive in my house today. We are usually on the go so much, but this Saturday (today) was like a "mini break" before the Christmas RUSH. The picture below is of Laura Beth enjoying her VERY OWN real Christmas tree. Her "Wabee" (Lauren Kelly) bought it for her.

Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving week was wonderful!We started off our week with a "get away" trip to Natchez. Laura Beth got to stay with her Granny and Papaw. We stayed at Dunleith Plantation.
We took pictures with me standing next to things because it gives a better perspective of how huge our room was. 
When we came home from Natchez, we enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at my parents house.

All in all, we had a GREAT Thanksgiving. Now, we are looking forward to Christmas! We are very excited about this wonderful season of celebrating our Saviour's birth.
