Memorial Day weekend

This past weekend, we went to Texas. Yep, we took our 3 month old on a 9 hour road trip. We packed up our mini van and headed to the lone star state.

Steve was our driver. Breisch was the side seat navigator...along with Steve's bestfriend 'Garmin' (a GPS system) who took us on a few scenic routes.

We went to a crawfish boil with my dad's side of the family in Elgin, TX. I say, "Crawfish boil" but it was more like a family reunion. This was Steve's first time to meet some of that family and Laura Beth's first time to meet (in-person) most of that family. Laura Beth is the newest and youngest addition to the Andrews side of the family. We REALLY enjoyed getting to see everyone...plus the crawfish and HUGE shrimp weren't bad either. ha!

The picture below is my dad and his older sister Euna. Euna was the first born and dad was the last. We love her! I don't know how we didn't get pictures of dad with his other sister, Barbara. We love her too. :)
After Elgin,TX we (Aunt Gigi, Uncle Beesch, Steve, Laura Beth and Myself) headed to Dallas, TX for some site seeing. We went to the JFK (AKA: KFC according to Aunt GiGi) memorial museum. It was really interesting and sad to see the exact place where Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Kennedy. Then, Steve went out into the road where 2 X's mark the spots at which JFK was shot. Steve took some picture from the spot facing the 6th story window. Below are some pictures of that adventure.

This is from the first shot that hit Kennedy.
This is from the second shot that hit Kennedy.

After the JFK museum, we headed to eat, but on the way we stopped for some photo opportunities :). It was REALLY hot in Texas!

Then, we headed off to the Holocaust Museum, which I found to be very overwhelming.

After a long day of museums, we finished off the night with a dinner at the Medieval Times Castle. If you've never been to one of these, they are pretty neat. We ate half of a chicken each, a rib, half a potato, soup, and an apple pastry. It was alot of food. We also enjoyed some pretty amazing horses, fun lights, and music.

However, as you can see Laura Beth slept through the entire show. HA. We ended up covering her eyes and ears with a cloth to help her stay asleep. It was too funny.

That night, Aunt GiGi got to play with Laura Beth. They absolutely LOVE each other.

Overall, the weekend was alot of fun. We loved our visit to Texas, even though it was quick. The hotel was fabulous and the company was super! Laura Beth's first vacation was a success :)

Mommy goes back to work

On Monday May 19th, I went back to work for the last week of school. Steve kept Laura Beth on the first day. The picture below explains why Steve can't be a stay-at-home father. HA! No really, Jack (our dog) loves Laura Beth. Steve thinks Jack can babysit her without us. ha!

After work on Monday, I was so tired. I laid on the couch for a few minutes with Laura Beth hoping to catch 15 minutes of sleep. I ending up sleeping 45 minutes. It was so crazy. Laura Beth didn't move the entire time. We both needed a long nice nap together after missing each other all day.

Uncle Lou came to visit this week. You can tell, because he had a "cool" time with Laura Beth.

Laura Beth is eating like a champ now. She hardly spits any of the food out...well, I guess you can call it food. It is unsweetened applesauce, breast milk, rice, and bananas (more milk than anything). She loves it.

We are heading to Texas for Memorial Day weekend. We will be in Elgin, TX on Saturday visiting my dad's family and eating crawfish. Then, we are going to Dallas for a couple days to spend time with Aunt GiGi and Uncle Beesch. It's going to be HOT!

Disciple Now, My Birthday, Laura Beth's first foods, and MORE!

This past weekend was very busy. Our church had DiscipleNow for the youth. We enjoyed worshipping, EATING, playing paint ball, and soaking ourselves in God's word. It was a GREAT experience.

Laura Beth was passed around all weekend to her Granny (my mom), Papaw (my dad), AUnt Gigi (my sister, Angie), Uncle Beesch (my brother-in-law, Breisch), Mimi (linda Dismuke), Pops (Randy Dismuke), and RoRo (Robin Dismuke). She was so spoiled when I got her home. HA! Pops and Laura Beth loving on each other. Too Sweet!

Sunday was my birthday. I got LOTS of sweet cards from Laura Beth. Yep, Laura Beth. Ya'll didn't know she could write yet, did you. HA! I also got an amazing card from Steve. AND lots of birthday hugs from family. What a GREAT day! We also spent the day with one of Steve's close friends, Micheal Brooks. Mike led our DiscipleNow. We are so amazed at Mike's faith and ability to relate to our youth. He has a wonderful heart for the Lord. He enjoyed playing with Laura Beth too. We don't have pictures of him playing with her because we left our camera at the church, but Laura Beth LOVED Micheal holding her. :)

Steve left Monday May 5th to go to a conference. He missed Laura Beth eating her first foods because of the conference. Soooo, we videod it below. We miss you daddy!

Lauren Kelly and my mom are keeping me company and playing with Laura Beth everyday that Steve is gone. Lauren actually is staying the nights. She enjoyed giving Laura Beth her bottle in the mornings. We are going to miss her when she moves to Texas next month. SOOO the video below is for her. She loves it when Laura Beth does this.

We went to watch Malia Nichols and some other church members play baseball. Laura Beth is becoming a frequent fan at these events.
Jamie Nichols loves playing with Laura Beth. She is the Pastor's wife at our church. I love watching her play with Laura Beth. :)

This coming weekend we are heading to Jackson for Hannah Claire's (my neice) 2nd Birthday party. I got her the cutest...well, I won't say...she could be reading this at the rate this child is developing. HA! I'll post pictures next week.

Today we went to visit Laura Beth's great grandmother.
Then we came home, ate, played, and went to bed. :)
