1 YEAR SHOTS! OUCH!

Believe it or not, we have NEVER taken a camera to the doctor office. Last week when we went was the first time Laura Beth cried at SEEING the doctor. I just happened to have the camera this time. It's pretty funny and sad all at the same time.

"Oh yeah...everything is nice. I'm just playing with this toy."

"Going to the doctor isn't so bad. Or is it?...""AAAAAHHHH" The doctor hadn't even touched her yet. He just walked that close to her and she started screaming. It probably doesn't help that he is a man (she has a thing with men sometimes). hA! We couldn't help but laugh and feel bad for her at the same time.

"Get me out of here."
Dr. Gillespie said, "Uh oh, she's trying to escape." ha!
At this point it was time to lay her down to check her ears (Because she is getting over a little otitus media, ear infection). Needless to say, Steve had to hold legs, while I held the arms so she wouldn't hurt herself as he looked in her ears. Doctor's visits are pretty traumatic these days.AND...it's over...or is it? She is smiling in this next picture, but it kinda doesn't look like it. I think this was the calm before the REAL storm.
At least mommy got to hold her for the shorts. Man, I hated this part.
All together, she is home sleeping with a nice dose of Tylenol. :) She'll get 2 more shots in 3 months. GREAT.

Play-doh art!

I forgot to post some pictures from last weekend. I have been meaning to do it all week. Then, Steve got sick and I guess I just forgot. So here they are.

These are pictures of my Ladybug neice's (Hannah Claire) and mine play-doh art.

These are snakes. Or "Drench Dries" (French Fries) as Hannah Claire says.

This is a Caterpillar.

A snowman.

Then last Sunday night, the youth went to Pizza Inn. Thanks to Forest for feeding and "entertaining" Laura Beth.

A no-tooth picture. Hilarious.

A "too-much-teeth" picture. ha! Laura Beth saw a machine with "balls" in it (they were really those little containers that have a cheap necklace or rub-on tattoo in it). Anyway, she wanted one so I got one out of the "TEETH" machine. They had "bling teeth," "bubba teeth," etc. (hey people, we live in Greenville, this is normal here) We were blessed with these. ha! Steve will kill me for posting this.

Maybe it made you smile, Steve. Hope you feel better today!

A "normal" picture of Galen and Steve. :)

Family times!

This past Saturday, we had the chance to visit Steve's family in Jackson.
Laura Beth got alot of attention. :)

Uncle Aaron always playing with Laura Beth.

Snuggling with Aunt Laura.
The boys playing NBA Live 96 (OLD SCHOOL, for real!)

Bampa had a birthday last week, so we celebrated on Saturday. He also had surgery. We hope a day with his two "Honey Bee's" made him feel better!

Laura Beth and Hannah Claire played with each other. As you can tell, they were "sharing." ha! Laura Beth is thinking, "Trade you this thing for that thing (because she doesn't know what either thing is)." ha!
Now, Laura Beth is thinking, "What it this?" Hannah Claire is thinking, "Bad trade." ha!

"so maybe I eat it?"
Now she is thinking, "AAAAA... that's bright!"

In this picture Laura Beth would NOT look at the camera. I told Hannah Claire, "Say Cheese." So, Hannah Claire is saying, "Cheese." After the picture, Hannah Claire said, "Her (Laura Beth) not say 'Cheese'." ha!
At the end of the day, it was all LOVE. Well, at least, Hannah Claire was hugging. Such a sweet cousin!

Looking forward to spring!

We are so ready for SPRING! We are ready to be outside everyday. :)

Laura Beth loves her swing that her daddy put up for her. Thanks to Jamie Nichols for giving us the swing. SHE LOVES IT!

My favorite picture. I just love it. Look at those teeth! Those are definitely from her mommy. ha!

Laura Beth wearing Uncle Aaron's "boats." Her dress is tucked in so she can crawl...we probably should have untucked it for the picture. ha!

Thank you Uncle Aaron and Aunt Laura for letting us borrow the cute table. It is PERFECT!

Laura Beth loves her Uncle Aaron. SHe smiles and laughs at him just when he walks in the room. It is precious!

Laura Beth signs for her Bampa..

Laura Beth's Bampa (Steve's Dad) had surgery today. His birthday was also yesterday. So this past weekend when Aunt Laura and Uncle Aaron were here she decided to show off a little bit. She knows a couple more signs, but these were all we could catch on video.

Not long ago, Laura Beth was playing in the youth room at the church. We were a little freaked at first. When we realized she couldn't swallow or choke on the ping pong balls, then we just let her play.

More birthday pictures.

I decided to post some more pictures from Laura Beth's birthday party last weekend. I wanted a picture of me and Laura Beth because I'm never in pictures with her. However, I couldn't get her to look at the camera. (Of course :)).
We had lots of family in town so it was nice to get some "sibling"pictures. :)
Laura Beth's birthday was all cupcakes. My sister, Angie (Aunt Gee Gee), made Laura Beth's cake. I must say, "It was so adorable!"Laura Beth liked her cupcake so much that she went "no-hands" to eat it. Hilarious!
Reading a book with Mammy and Da da after opening presents. She loves ALL of her new books.

What a great party. We will post video soon of Laura Beth signing her first signs. Too cute!

Happy Birthday Dear Laura Beth....

Happy Birthday to you!

Yep, today is the big day. Feb. 9, 2008, one year ago, we were welcoming you into the world. We had no idea about what we were about to experience, but we felt prepared. We felt ready. We (well, I) had read tons of books, talked to tons of moms, received advice, and prayed. However, we were still not ready for what was about to happen. Laura Beth was about to be in our arms and needing us. What joy we have found in that!

It has been the BEST year of our lives! Laura Beth is the best thing that Steve and I have ever done. We are so proud of her! We love our cupcake!
After the birthday party, Uncle Aaron and Da da wasting no time in putting the front-facing carseat into the van. Laura Beth instantly loved it. She loved the new view! Then yesterday on our way home from church, Laura Beth discovered that the seat was comfy for sleeping too. ha!

On our way to church, we stopped and took some pictures of Laura Beth at a Cypress Reserve here in Greenville. It was such a beautiful weekend to be outside. Laura Beth's cute shirt came from her Gram Berg (Steve's grandmother in Minnesota). Laura Beth was too busy playing with sticks and leaves to smile for the camera. But we did catch a few good shots.

This afternoon, Shelby Reister and Laura Sipes came over for a personal birthday party (BYOC- Bring Your Own Cupcakes) They brought Laura Beth a cupcake, which she loved. Laura Beth is wearing most of her cupcake. ha! It was a really sweet thing for them to do. We love you guys!

All together, Laura Beth's birthday was a fun day. However, we (especially Laura Beth) missed Steve. He was at Seminary today. He got to enjoy the birthday party Saturday, but he will miss seeing her at all today. Don't worry Steve, she pointed to every picture of you in the house and said, "Da da." I haven't heard "ma ma" one time today. ha!
