Day off adventures

Steve and I try to utilize my days off to spend as much quality time together, as a family as the other days of the week are rush, rush, rush most times. This weekend was pretty full of "firsts" and fun.

LAURA BETH'S FIRST DANCE CLASS

This was my first attempt to get her to pose. Even though it isn't the pose I wanted, it looks a little ballet-ish.

This is the pose we got at the dance place when Laura Beth saw all of her friends posing for pictures. HA!
Listening to her teacher
Laura Beth stomped, waved her arms, twirled etc. It was a great first day at dance class.

LIZZIE'S FIRST MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL GAME

We went to a Texas Rangers game. It was so much fun!
These may not look like good seats but we are sitting indoors here. It was an all-you-can-eat part of the stadium and then we could go outside if wanted.

First time to go to a park and have a High School band playing for us.

We go to this park all the time and feed the ducks and swing. Here is Laura Beth swinging. Can you see the drums in the background?
Paschal High School (One of the larger schools here) had their band practice at the park. It was nice listening to them play.
All together, it was a great weekend. Next weekend I will be in MS with my friend Lisa Nothstine. We are celebrating the upcoming birth their first child. :) I can't wait!

And all that JAZZ!

The size of these shoes are so much cuter in person. They are so little. Laura Beth Starts dance this week and we just bought her shoes. It will be so fun to see all of the outfit together. More pictures to come soon. I can't believe she is starting "dance" (probably just jumping around and twirling). ha! Her school is called "Devotion in Motion" through Southcliff Baptist church.

Together Again!

Our immediate families were together again as we made another trip to MS. Steve preached a wedding in Byram, MS, and we took the opportunity to see family while we were there.

Laura Beth and Papaw. I think Laura Beth commanded Papaw to "talk it." Thats what she says when she wants someone to read a book. ha!

Papaw and his only Grandson, Gage.

Oh yeah, this pose means good things are coming.

Together again. Seeing each other for the first time.

And seconds later, holding hands, of course.

Playing Wii. Laura Beth had no clue. She tried jumping, swinging her hands, yelling, ha! It was hilarious!

Bampa and his only Grandson.

Laura Beth saying "cheese."
(We have got to change that really soon. None of her pictures look happy. They are starting to look angry. ha!)

Overall, it was a fun weekend with family. We enjoyed seeing everyone!

More Videos

I haven't had much time to get videos up on the blog. So I started last night going back looking for ones that I have wanted to put on here. ha!

He is one of my favorites.

During Zane's last visit here. Laura Beth was so sweet to him and wanted to feed him. Turns out, Zane wanted her to feed him too. HA!

This next video is from our recent trip to CO. It gives a pretty good idea of what the giant "slide" was like. I like this segment of the video because Laura Beth looks back at Steve. ha!

new videos

Laura Beth got to go on a train ride while in Colorado recently. She loves "color" songs that my mom taught her. Here we are driving to the city where the train is. She says "all aboard" and then sings these 2 songs:
R-E-D red.
R-E-D Red
I can spell red. I can spell red.
Firetrucks are red
Stop signs are ted too. R-E-D. R-E-D.

P-U-R-P-L-E, Purple, Purple
P-u-R-P-L-E Purple's what that spells.
Purple grapes on a vine,
Purple grapes are fine.
P-U-R-P-L-E purple's what that spells
(Big smile)

COLORADO

This trip required air transportation! Laura Beth loved the airport and the plane.
About to board her first flight. She was running down the tunnel.
She loved looking at the clouds!
We spent last weekend in Breckinridge, CO. It was AMAZING. We loved the weather, the scenery, and the company. :)
Mary Margaret and Don Spitzer allowed us to stay in their home. They showed us around and loved on us. We are so thankful for them!

Me and Mary Margaret.
Steve and Don. They are about to play golf in this picture. They played a couple of times on the Breckinridge course surrounded by BEAUTIFUL mountains.

View from the house we stayed in.
We panned for "gold."
Mary Margaret and Laura Beth looking at one of many beautiful streams.
We ate at Eric's. The menu was HUGE! ha!

We also went down this really cool slide. Breckinridge has mountain fun even without snow.
Laura Beth's first "lift" ride. You can barely see them. It was my first "ski lift" too. We had to take the lift to get to the slide. It was sooo pretty.
Waiting her turn for the slide.
Riding with Daddy. She wanted to go faster. She actually put her hands in the air too.
LOVE THE VIEWS!!!
Overall, it was a great vacation! Now we are home and back to reality. Work for me and Steve's last semester of school closely approaching.
