Zoo

We haven't been to the Zoo in a while because it has been FREEZING! However, today was a wonderful day to see the animals. They were all moving around. It was a little windy, so we wore ours coats for some of the visit, but otherwise it was nice.

This is Laura Beth from last summer. She has grown a bit since then.

Today.

Steve had Disciple Now all weekend with the Travis Ave. youth. Laura Beth and mommy had lots of together time. We went to multiple parks. We fed ducks, played with dogs, slid down slides, hit every swing, and merry go round. We also made a nice walk around the seminary.

Let's go fly a kite

It was overcast and windy. Perfect for flying an Ariel kite. This is Laura Beth's first time to fly a kite. She is actually holding it in this picture.

Daddy helped her get the kite to go way up high.
REALLY HIGH!
We also played at the mall today. :)
Overall, it was a nice Saturday to spend together.

Terrific TWO!

Laura Beth turned 2 this month. We had her birthday party in Jackson, MS at Steve's parents house.

Steve's mom provided the food and balloons. :) My sister made Laura Beth's cake again this year (as a special request from me). The theme this year was "Love bugs."
My Love Bug.
Thanks for the "love bug" dress Gran!
This is Laura Beth's birthday plate made by some friends who live in Greenville. They made it for me when I was pregnant with Laura Beth for me to use with all of our kids as their "birthday plate."
Behind the plate is an adorable hat that I made for Laura Beth to wear. She DID NOT want to wear it. Well, she did, but HATED the strap so it would not stay on her head. ha!
Let the party begin!

It was so nice seeing so many people at the party. The below picture is of families that had someone in our wedding. When we got married there were 3 babies born for these families. NOW, we have MULTIPLIED!!!
After the party, I caught some fun memories. This is one that Laura Beth will love. She always goes in this closet and gets into this box full of baby dolls and doll shoes. SHE LOVES THE SHOES. I remember a closet like this at my grandma Andrews' house, except it had mardi gras coins and beads in it. Memories.

Laura Beth learned alot from Hannah Claire in 2 days. Last month, I bought a Tu Tu for Laura Beth to pretend ballerina in. She hated it. However, she saw Hannah Claire wear this Tu Tu one time and this is what we get.Me and my boys!
My nephews, Gage (left) and Zane (right).
DATE NIGHT! Steve and I got to eat at the Parker House in Jackson with Angie and Breisch for Valentines. My parents kept Laura Beth and Gage. Fun times!

Fun times with Gee Gee and Aunt La La!

Overall, this was a GREAT trip to MS. We were completely exhausted when we returned but so happy that we went.

TX & MS snow

Ok, so I tried to narrow down the pictures to post both snow days and Laura Beth's birthday party. I ended up wanting to post 40 pictures. I think that is a little much for one post. ha! Therefore, I will do a "snow" post and a "birthday" post. :) Enjoy.

We traveled to MS for Laura Beth's birthday on the day a snow storm (11.2 inches in one day) hit the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Before getting the road, we wanted Laura Beth to get to play in the snow for a minute. She wasn't interested. She was FREEZING!

Steve made this snowman in TX.
Then, it fell. :(
So we headed to the mighty MS for Laura Beth's birthday.
Bye Seminary.
So what do you do on a 7 hour trip in the snow with a two year old? I have no idea...but this is what we did.
SANG SONGS.
Ate snacks.
Played with Aquadoodle.
(whoever invented this is making some serious money now. ha!)
Played with magnet letters and cookie sheet
Colored our elmo book that Wabee gave us for Valentine's day.
And watched MANY movies!!!!! She slept a little too. :)

So we get to MS and the next day, guess what happened? It SNOWED!

This is Laura Beth wanting to go out into the snow after she woke up.
So, we did. THIS TIME, she loved it.
(probably because Hannah Claire loved it. ha!)
Helping make a snowman.
If Hannah Claire did something in the snow, then Laura Beth did it too.
Eating snow.
Hmmm....
Yum."These bushes need to be cleaned. Let's knock all the snow off of them."
and they did...
I'm kinda glad Laura Beth didn't do this. She wasn't dressed waterproof like Hannah Claire.Ha! So cute!
This was Steve's MS snowman. NICE! It stayed up for a long time. :)
All together, it was a FUN snow weekend!

Petting Zoo

Yes, Laura Beth has turned 2 years old and I am so anxious to put those pictures up on the blog of her fantastic birthday weekend. HOWEVER, I must show our "followers" (Ha!) the pictures of her and the animals at the stock show. We had the best time. Laura Beth wasn't afraid of ANY of the animals.

Laura Beth getting ready to go to the stock show.

This is Laura Beth and Daddy about to go into the petting area.

Petting the goats. These are those "fainting" goats. ha! None were too scared of Laura Beth to faint.BUT STEVE really wanted one to faint. ha!

This goat was a new mommy and was in a separated pen. Laura Beth didn't want to leave her out. ha!

Little Baby goat. Very sweet.

This duck was crazy! It started biting Laura Beth's sleeve as she was petting it, and Laura Beth just laughed because she didn't feel it. She just thought it was funny, like tickling or something.

These rabbits were awesome. You would think they would run so fast away from little kids, but they sat still the entire time we were there. Their used to it.

Now this chicken is a different story. He was hard to catch.

THEN there were the LAMAs. Steve "loved" them. ha! Can't you tell. He made fun of them the entire time.

Finally, Laura Beth went on her first "big girl" ride all by herself. She LOVED these swings even though it was freezing outside. ha!

Overall, it was a GREAT trip to the Ft Worth Stock Show. I'm glad we went. :) Even if Laura Beth was only big enough and interested enough in the petting zoo and swings. ha!
