So Far September

Ok, so maybe some of this is from August. ha!

We went to the circus one weekend. Laura Beth had a blast and Julie Ann slept through most of it.

Uncle Bill with his nieces. THEY LOVE HIM!!!

I caught these guys like this. So funny. AND they are SOOO CLOSE to the T.V. ha!

Hannah Claire holding Julie Ann. She always wants to hold Julie Ann. It's so sweet.

Brushing their hair and getting ready for bed together.

Mammy telling Julie Ann "I love you"

Steve giving biblical truth to the girls before bed.

Bampa saying good bye before heading home to MS.

Little State Fans. Laura Beth INSISTED that her Norah doll had to be in the picture. ha!

Family picture at the "Gone Wild" Safari. The nice lady who took the picture wasn't sure how to use my camera. Hence the "uninterested" Julie Ann and "done" Laura Beth expressions.

Overall, we are thrilled about the cooler weather and fun fall activities coming up!

Cousin fun and more

We recently had Hannah Claire (Laura Beth's cousin) in town for a week. They had such a great time together. We were very thankful that had this opportunity. Especially since Hannah Claire taught Laura Beth about (1) mouth wash, and (2) talking in a really high pitched voice to Julie Ann.

Cause we're cousins! from Elizabeth Mears on Vimeo.

This next picture is of Julie Ann at 4 months. She had her doctor appointment today. She weighs 16 pounds! She eats oatmeal once a day. She loves loves loves people (faces). She also is beginning to love her lamb (lovey). She is so much fun! She wouldn't stop kicking and "talking" during the photo shoot.

Lastly, I had a fender bender today. It wasn't "my fault" but I almost wished it was. The sweetest, most humble little old lady hit our minivan today. She asked if I was ok. I told her I was fine. I then asked if she was ok. She replied, "I'm old, you are young so I am glad you are ok." She said she was on her way to super one to get some yogurt, but she would just have to pass on it now. ha! She had groceries in her car, including some daisies she bought for herself. When I asked if she had family to come pick her up, she said, "I have no one in the world." Not even a friend or neighbor. She was worried because they didn't have buses where she lived and her car had to be towed after the accident. She looked at her car and said, "That car needs to go in the trash." (wonderful attitude the ENTIRE time). She has the most wonderful russian accent (I think it sounded russian). When I asked how she ended up in Woodworth, she said, "I saw the place and liked it." She apologized over and over again for the accident. Thank God for the sweetest man from the Alexandria Sherriff's department who took her home. (He also said he would have someone come to her house each week to check on her). I later had a time to just chat with Ms. N., (sweetest, most humble lady in the world) and I asked if she had ever married. She said, "I wanted to so bad, but no one would have me." When I was leaving she said, please take a flower so you will remember me (as if I could forget her). I am certainly not happy our van had to be towed and all, BUT I am sooo glad I met Ms. N. She is an amazing lady. I kinda want to hang out with her again soon.

Summer Summary

I can't believe this summer is almost coming to an end. We have been traveling so much! Hence the absence from the blogging world. WE ARE BACK NOW! :)

Here's a recap of some of our time this summer.

Y-E-S to V-B-S!

The video below is Laura Beth's first "show." It's the VBS parent night. We had no idea she was going to be singing. Hence the reason she looks a little confused. She starts to catch on mid way through the video. She is a few beats behind, but overall, I thought she did a great job. If the video shakes a little, it's because I am giggling at how funny and cute Laura Beth is. She is on the front row of the steps. She is the one waving at the crowd and looking a little confused. Her age/class is the front row...mostly looking confused.

Summer Love. Julie Ann looks into it. ha!

Julie Ann (left) and Ann Thomas (right) meet in matching outfits. SO cute!

Look Alike photo shoot.

Laura Beth's first time to feed Julie Ann the bottle.

Caught Julie Ann sleeping. Doesn't happen often. ha!

We also visited family throughout the summer. We went to the children's museum in Jackson, MS. We also met up with some family friends from Maben, MS while they visited us in Jackson. The Gray's (Debbie, Tyler, and Erin) came to meet Ann Thomas and Julie Ann. It was so nice to catch up with them. Overall, we are so thankful to live closer to our family so that we can share times like this summer. Below is a recap video of most of our summer adventures!
The last picture of the slideshow is Julie Ann's 3 month old picture. She is now 14 weeks and is pretty fun to hang out with.

Still here

We are still here, just on a MS "vacation" at Papaw and Gran's house. Steve had the camera for church functions, so I don't have many pictures, but I am hoping my sister and mom will send me some of theirs. We are having a great time. I will update the blog and post pictures soon.

Julie Ann's Dedication

Yesterday, we were able to dedicate Julie Ann to the Lord. We stated we would disciple her and raise her following Christ's example. What a wonderful time to do this on father's day! My parents and brother were in town for this special occasion. After church we ate lunch at our house with my Aunt Euna, Uncle Sam, Candy, and their children. Laura Beth is completely in love with Sheridan and Jude and asks for them to come over whenever she thinks of them (which is often).

Fun Fashion

Laura Beth has an interesting taste in fashion. She has some "favorites" that she has asked for every day for the last few weeks. Let's start at the head.

That crown is from her cousin Hannah Claire. It is a fancy nancy crown. It "fits" Laura Beth's head the best out of all of her crowns. SO, she wears it with every "princess" outfit. In that case, she will say, "I am cinderella fancy nancy" (if she is wearing a cinderella dress). etc

Now to the attire: Laura Beth has 2 friends (the Hammonds) that have bathing suit cover ups (from wal-mart) exactly like this one (in a different color though). I thought they were cute, so I bought Laura Beth one for this summer. WELL, She was soo excited about it that she calls it a cover up "costume" and she wears it ALL the time. I think it is because she can slip it on and off REALLy easily.

Now on to the feet, Gran bought these nice "ghetto" shoes for Laura Beth. Hannah Claire has a pair. I said, "Ghetto" because they have rhinestones, peace signs, bright colors, etc. HOWEVER, THEY ALSO HAVE LIGHTS. They have blue, clear, and pink lights. Laura Beth LOVED Hannah Claire's light up shoes when we visited last. Laura Beth's pair of "non-ghetto light up shoes" had one shoe that would light up and one that would not. So, her Gran decided Laura beth needed some new light up shoes. We found the exact same pair that Hannah Claire had. Laura Beth has worn them EVERY day since they were purchased. I am over the "ghetto" part now. ha! Seeing her be sooo excited over those shoes makes them worth every penny (as they are RIDICULOUSLY over priced). ha!

If I allowed it, Laura Beth would wear this to church, school, sleep, etc. She is perfectly happy in this nice outfit. ha!

Splash Park

I recently took Laura Beth to the splash park in Alexandria. Steve kept Julie Ann and gave me and Laura Beth some time to hang out. It was so fun!

You know you want some light blue aviators. Yeah, you do.

At Mother's Day Out last week, Laura Beth threw a HUGE fit about not wanting to make hand and foot prints. She has made them before, so I am not exactly sure why that day was different. Other than she said, the paint tickles. hmmm.... However, the very next day we went to the splash park and look who was making all kinds of hand and foot prints with wet side walk chalk.

They have a playground next to the park, we took the opportunity to dry off at the swing. It was hot, so we put Laura Beth's towel on it. I love this towel that my mom bought from Blessed Be the Name (I think).
